Michael Sim

Michael Sim is a dedicated Canadian dragon boat athlete, four-time national team competitor, and a respected leader in the paddling community. He has represented Canada in Senior B national-level competitions and continues to compete at a high level, demonstrating discipline, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence on the water.

He is one of the founders of Evolution Paddling Club, where he has helped build programs for paddlers of all levels and fostered a supportive, inclusive paddling community. Through Evolution, he has contributed to developing athletes’ skills, mentoring new paddlers, and promoting dragon boat racing within his community.

In addition, he has been actively involved with CSDC (Canadian Senior Dragonboat Club), a premier competitive dragon-boat organization that represents Canada in Senior A, B, C, and D divisions at international competitions. CSDC is known for its consistent national and world-class success, and Michael’s involvement demonstrates his dedication to performance, team development, and the growth of the sport.

Beyond paddling, Michael is a second-degree black belt in karate, reflecting years of discipline, focus, and dedication to personal growth. His martial arts experience complements his athletic pursuits, reinforcing principles of perseverance, mental toughness, and leadership.

Professionally, Michael works in consulting, leveraging leadership, strategy, and collaborative problem-solving skills that complement his experience as a high-performance athlete. His career reflects a unique combination of competitive drive, community engagement, and professional expertise.
